Black Woman Feeling Her Power25 at 10_20_51 AM_edited.jpg

Healing Is Sacred. But It’s Also Everyday.
That’s the energy I’m now channelling into a new section on my website — one rooted in cultural wisdom, emotional rest, and tools that don’t require perfection to be powerful.
It’s called Healing Tools & Sacred Joy, and it’s where I bring together what I’ve learned from:
•    Indigenous teachings like the Medicine Wheel
•    Tree wisdom and forest stillness
•    Laughter yoga and unexpected joy
•    Writing prompts that help you remember who you are — not just what you’ve survived
This is not self-help.
This is self-remembrance.

ðŸŒą Why Now?
Because we’ve all been carrying a lot.
And for Black, Indigenous, and other system-impacted women, the weight is historic — but so is the wisdom.
Healing is not just about recovery.
It’s about reclamation.
It’s about saying, “This is mine — joy, rest, medicine, all of it.”

💎 Call to Action:
If you’re looking for softness, stillness, or sacred laughter…
If you’ve ever felt erased by academia, the wellness industry, or the systems that promised to care for you...
I invite you to join me.
ðŸŠķ Come visit www.grandmaknowsbest.org
Look for the section called Healing Tools & Sacred Joy.
Take what you need. Leave what you can.
Let’s bloom.
Together.

“Our great blossoming is coming and we will bloom bright, extraordinary, and the world will witness our unfolding.”
— Lee Maracle, I Am Woman
Lee Maracle was one of my professors during my undergraduate studies.
She became one of my quiet guides, offering strategies for wellness that were rooted, not trendy.
She spoke of land as medicine. Of voice as ceremony. Of laughter as resilience.
And as a Black Canadian woman striving to navigate institutions that were never built with me in mind, I didn’t just learn from Lee — I was reminded by her that I existed long before the university tried to define me.
She didn’t offer wellness trends. She offered truth.
And it stayed with me.

"This is not self-help. This is self-remembrance"

When I started Grandma Knows Best, I was searching for peace I could live in.
Not perform. Not pretend.
Just real, rooted peace.
This space is an offering—for you, for me, for us.
Black women deserve sacred, soft spaces.
We’ve earned them 10 times over.
