The Story My Grandma Gave Me
My grandma taught me a story about a dog carrying a bone. He came to a river and saw what looked like another dog staring back at him with a bigger bone. He forgot the bone he already had and jumped into the water after the one he thought was better. In my grandmother’s version of the story, the dog drowned.
The lesson stayed with me: be careful what you throw away while chasing what only looks bigger from a distance.
